Travel
For you who are traveling to Side by Side!
The locations for accommodation, food, rehearsals and concerts are all within walking distance of the Concert Hall (Konserthuset).
West Pride
Saturday, June 15
On Saturday 15 June, parts of Gothenburg's inner city will be closed to car traffic between 12 noon and 4 p.m. Keep that in mind when planning your trip to Gothenburg. Information on how public transport is affected will be available on Västtrafik's website. If you have to drive or if you come by bus, it is important that you find out yourself how it is appropriate to drive.
Flight
The closest airport is Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
To get from the airport to the city we recommend the airport bus.
In Gothenburg we recommend you leave the airport bus at stop “Korsvägen” and after that walk about 13min/950m to Hvitfeldtska Gymnasiet Norra, (Rektorsgatan 2) where you can check-in at the accommodation. If you are going straight to Konserthuset (the Concert Hall), you can disembark at "Berzeliigatan" and walk ca 4 min/270 m up the incline.
Train
Nearest train station is Gothenburg Central Station.
From there you can take several different buses and trams. Ticket may be bought at the store “Västtrafik”, "Resecentrum" or via the ToGo app. (Available in your app store.)For example, you can take tram number 7 toward Tynnered.
Leave the tram at the stop “Kapellplatsen” and walk about 5min/300m to Hvitfeldtska gymnasiet Norra (Rektorsgatan 2) where you can check-in at the accommodation.
Meals
Each track's schedule shows which meals are included when. We work to reduce food waste and therefore some meals are only for our accommodation residents. This applies to most dinners. Which meals are for everyone and which are for residents only are shown in the tracs schedules that will be presented later this spring. Please note that dinner is not served on Friday June 14.
NB! It is important that only those who have registered a special diet take that food so there is enough for those who really need it. Nothing containing nuts or pork is served at Side by Side.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Breakfast is only served for our accommodation.
15-19 June in Hvitfeldtska Matsal at 07.00-09.00
Sandwiches deliverd on 20 June
Lunch and dinner are served at both Hvitfeldtska matsal and in Konserthuset. Where you are supposed to eat which meal will be noted in your schedule.Side by Side is a” Kranmärkt” (tap certified) event. Meaning that we do not serve any water on bottle and instead provide our participants with a refillable bottle that you can refill at any water source. (Swedish tap water is drinkable.)
Accommodation
For you who will be staying over with us!
NB! If you can't or won't stay at camp, or if our accommodation is full, you can book External Housing.
Check-in
All check-in takes place in our accommodation reception at Hvtfeldtska Norra.
Check-in is open Friday 14/6 at 17.00-21.00. On other days, check-in is open from 07:00 to 21:00
It is advisable to first go to the accommodation and check in and leave luggage and then go to the Concert Hall for registration.
It is possible to keep the luggage until later the same day.
At check-in, residents will be allocated rooms in one of the two buildings we use for accommodation (Hvitfeldtska Norra and YRGO/Aschebergsgymnasiet). We will inform you about the fire and order rules that apply at the property.
In both buildings there is a reception which is open from 07:00 to 23:00. Check-out is done at the reception of the school you live at no later than 10.00 on the day you leave.
Accommodation & Comfort
Those of you who sleep over at camp must bring your own pillow and blanket/sheet or sleeping bag.
NB! We cannot offer mattresses. You must therefore bring your own mattress / sleeping mat. So that it doesn't get too crowded in the halls, it's great if you don't bring oversized inflatable mattresses.
The overnight stay takes place in dormitories of approx. 20 people/room, with the exception of some halls. Smaller groups may share a room with another group. We take into account your wishes regarding the division of dormitories (for example gender-divided groups).
There is a shared toilet in the corridors of the school.
The accommodation cost includes breakfast and the meals marked Endast för boende (residents only) in the schedule.
Accommodation Safety
At the accommodation there are employed staff (host/boendevärd) on site around the clock. They have undergone fire protection training. Everyone, both employees and volunteers, receives information about the regular fire and evacuation regulations that apply at the schools.
In each building, two employees are on site every night, one of whom is awake. During the day, there are also always two employees on site at the reception in each building. The classrooms are kept locked and the accommodation hosts will help you unlock them.
We urge you to follow our fire prevention measures and accommodation rules. Keep classrooms and corridors clean and tidy, take rubbish from the rooms. Make sure all windows and doors are closed and locked when you leave the rooms. Side by Side is an alcohol and drug free camp. This also applies to the accommodation. Due to allergies among the participants, peanuts and nuts of any kind are prohibited at the accommodation. After 23 it must be quiet in the corridors and in the rooms. The front doors are locked between 22-07 and therefore everyone must stay inside between those hours.
Staff from security companies are on site around the clock. Despite that, we cannot guarantee that there will be no theft at the property. Side by Side has no theft insurance for residents, it must be covered by your own home insurance.
