WIND & STRING ORCHESTRA
WIND & STRING ORCHESTRA is divided into a string orchestra and a wind orchestra with percussion. Here you get to take on a larger responsibility for your section and gain a deeper understanding of how that section operates.
For you who have played for 5–7 years and are about 13-17 years old. You have quite a lot of orchestra experience and are well prepared on your music. Your camp starts after lunch Saturday June 13 and ends with a concert on the afternoon of Wednesday June 17.
Late application is open for instruments with available slots and it closes when full or on April 3 at the latest.
For WIND & STRING ORCHESTRA you must apply for admission. There are about 70 slots available for strings and 50 slots for woodwind, brass and percussion. Admission is based on your age and experience. Admission notices will be sent out continuously. The participation fee is 450 SEK. Juan Carlos Maggiorani
Marjolein has a double degree in flute and wind band conducting. She grew up in the southern Netherlands where there is a big tradition in wind band music, and she has worked a lot with youth wind bands. Marjolein is a flutist in the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and has attended Side by Side for several years as an instructor for the oldest participants.
Juan is a violin specialist from Venezuela and Artistic Director at Orquestra Geração, a Sistema programme in Portugal. He was selected as a Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organization in the 2014/2015 season and has a Master's degree in Performance and Education at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. As a conductor Juan has participated in many international youth projects. He has also been a violin instructor at Side by Side for several years..
