VOLUNTEER
Welcome to volunteer at Side by Side!
Thanks for wanting to help!
The information on this page applies both for those volunteering by themselves and those who are a part of our corporate collaborations. Are you curious about the volunteer opportunities at Side by Side for companies and organizations? Feel free to email sidebyside@gso.se and we'll tell you more!
NB! To volunteer at Side by Side, you need to understand and speak some Swedish. Most communication will be in Swedish.
For the camp to be a once in a lifetime experience for all our participants, we need help from many people who contribute with their commitment, time, hands and heart. Therefore, we welcome volunteers to help with a variety of tasks during a few of the camp days.
Our volunteers eat lunch and dinner free of charge and get to experience concerts during camp.
Being a Volunteer
Being a volunteer can involve a variety of tasks. The Side by Side camp is taking place simultaneously at many different locations near the Concert Hall and we need volunteers at all locations. Our goal is that each volunteer belongs to one of the Side by Side locations and does all or most of their volunteer sessions there. We will schedule you at the location where you are most needed at the times you have indicated you can attend. Duties vary depending on location.
Examples of tasks:
You will have a supervisor on hand to give you instructions.
Your shifts:
We strive to create 4-hour sessions for volunteers. In order for everything to work as well as possible for you, for your supervisor and for the participants, we want you to participate as a volunteer in at least four 4-hour shifts during the Side by Side week, and preferably more. In your registration, state how many shifts you would like to take.
Most of the 4-hour shifts will be sometime between 9am and 5pm, but we also need some volunteers before 9am and after 5pm each day. We will not schedule any volunteer for more than eight hours per day. The days we need the most volunteers are Friday June 16–Tuesday June 20.
If you register by April 28 at the latest, you will receive a proposed schedule that you will be able to decide on. It will be sent out in early May. If you register late, you will receive your schedule at the beginning of June.
Regular registration is open 1/2 – 28/4 (February 1–April 28)
